You'll Never Run Out

While never is a long time, our success rate is better than 99%. Not running out of oil is something you can count on. The question is how do we do it?

It starts with the way we schedule deliveries. At Scott Oil, the goal is to deliver just about half a tank. That's a very conservative "Optimum Delivery Target" of 50%. The industry standard is to deliver 70% to 80% of your tank's capacity. Which means you could be down to 20% of your usable oil storage before most other companies even start planning your next delivery. Scott Oil would rather deliver more frequently, at no extra cost to you, to be sure you don't run out.

How Do We Know?

Well it's based on science, diligence and knowing our customers. We use a computerized program to determine optimum delivery by factoring in Degree Days and K Factors for each home. It's a similar mathematical equation to calculating miles per gallon for a car.

Degree Days are a value used to assess how cold it has been and the impact it has on your heating oil consumption. K Factors are a burning rate value unique to each home based on historical oil use, livable square footage, number of people in the home, etc. These indicators are used in the program to determine how much oil you're using per day and thus when to schedule the next delivery.

However, that's not all, we're also Storm Watchers. By anticipating snowstorms, we can accelerate our deliveries and avoid potential storm delays.

Last but not least, two key elements to timely deliveries are the number of trucks and qualified drivers a company has to respond to the variable weather demands of the winter season. Scott oil has 10 trucks and at least 15 experienced drivers to get the job done.

Fuel Additives = Greater Efficiency

We do everything we can to make your system run as efficiently as possible. One way that we do that is by putting an additive into every gallon of oil we sell. Most companies will not do this because of the added expense. However, we feel it is well worth it because your system runs at maximum efficiency and it can be statistically proven that additives reduce the number of oil circuit service calls significantly, thus saving you money! The use of these new additives is just one more example of how we take the extra step to provide our customers with the best products and service available.
