Scott Oil was started in May of 1946. Ed Scott Sr. had a used oil truck and did service for his customers out of the trunk of his car. His first year in business he delivered 50,000 gallons, half of it kerosene into 55 gallon drums.

He built the business slowly over the years by providing unparalleled service and constantly paying attention to detail. He didn't believe in stealing competitors' accounts. "If you want to get more customers then work hard and do a better job than the other guy."

Sixty years later, we still follow these basic ideals in running Scott Oil. Today we deliver about 5 million gallons per year. However, we are still considered a small business and we run it with a hands-on approach.

Scott Oil is not about the oil. Anyone can deliver a gallon of oil. We are about service, both for our customers and in terms of giving back to the communities that we serve.

High quality service provided in a timely manner by professional personnel is very difficult to provide day in and day out. We pride ourselves on hiring only the best people in all departments of the company and training is an ongoing process.

Scott Oil has been committed to this since 1946 and will continue to be committed to it in the future.
